Turnpike Widening from North of Exit 8, in Nashua, to South of Exit 10 in Merrimack
Recent Activities (as of early February 2026)
Southbound
- No work at this area.
Northbound
- Median drainage installation continues south of Pennichuck Brook.
- Median drainage installation north of Pennichuck Brook has begun.
Pennichuck Brook Bridge
- Demolition of the old northbound bridge structure is continuing. The concrete deck and girders have been removed.
- Northern abutment and approach slab have been removed.
Upcoming Work (February 2026 to March 2026)
Southbound
- Minimal work is expected.
Northbound
- Drainage installation in the median will continue through the winter.
Exit 10
- Minimal work is expected.
Pennichuck Brook Bridge
- Demolition of the old northbound bridge will continue.
- The southern abutment and approach slab will be removed.
- Installation of additional cofferdams, excavation, and preparations for pile driving will follow.
General Traffic Implications
Winter 2024/2025
- Rolling roadblocks, shoulder closures and night work, as needed, for temporary roadwork, as traffic allows.
